Freshly Made Sketches #33 and colourQ #135

Squeezing in under the deadline. It's already been a couple of weeks since I don't participate in these two challenges. Time flies by and weeks pass by and then I realized I had been missing my favorite challenges. Or sometimes it happens that my mojo gets lost. Does it happen to you?

I like the way  I combined the colors of the colourQ challenge. Hope you like my card!
Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Life is a matter of moments

I combined Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge #156, colourQ challenge #133 and The Paper Players challenge #91. Wow, when I started to write my post, I noticed that I made the card for those three challenges. That is why I enjoy participating in challenges and making cards so much...I combined the three of them without noticing! I hope you like my card today. Have a great weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

colourQ #132

My favorite color is orange. I think that it is a vibrant and energetic color, and this week the colourQ challenge color combo has Pumpkin Pie in it, and I love to combine any color with it. My favorite combinations are blue or green with orange, and black with orange.

Hope you like my creation! Enjoy!

colourQ challenge #131

Hi there! I created another card for colourQ. I saw a sketch that I liked in Cards magazine, and because I had the DSP that matches with the color combo of this week's challenge, I decided to give it a try. Happy Easter to everyone! God Bless you all!

Card Patterns Sketch 151 and colourQ challenge 123

First of all, I have to thank the colourQ team for picking my card in challenge #150. I have to thank everyone for all the comments you left on that card, they are much much much appreciated!

I created this card using the colors of the colourQ challenge and the sketch of Card Patterns Sketch.

I stamped the flowers with Peach Parfait Classic Ink on regular Whisper White cardstock. The reason I am clearing this up is because I painted the flowers with watercolor, using the aquapainter, with the bristles just damp to prevent the paper from peeling off. If you use the bristles that way and if you don't touch the outline of the flowers, you won't have any problem painting watercolor on regular cardstock and with classic ink.

Of course that if you don't want to take the risk, you can use watercolor paper and StaZon ink, and you can play it safe. But if you want to give yourself a challenge, give it a try. It is so much fun!

Have a great day! Enjoy!

colourQ challenge 122 and The Friday Mashup challenge 44

I'd love to share with you how I created this card for the colourQ and The Friday Mashup challenges. I decided to transform a card into a post card for Valentine's Day, which reminds me of when my daughter was studying in Iceland two years ago and celebrated all the holidays far from home. Hope you like it. Enjoy!

Freshly Made Sketches #19 and colourQ challenge #121

Hi there! Another card for two challenges. I used the sketch by Jen Mitchell (which I flipped over) in Freshly Made Sketches and the colors of the colourQ challenge.

As a base for the card, I used a precut card from the Everyday Elegance packet and then I added the embellishments. I painted the kettle and cup with watercolor, but using very little water because I stamped the images with Staz-On on regular Whisper White cardstock, which doesn't absorb a lot of water. Then I applied Crystal Effects on the kettle and the cup for some dimension.

When I looked at the card after I finished it, I noticed that that is a "morning picture" for me because that is what I do every morning: heat up the kettle to prepare an instant coffee or tea after I drop off my daughter at school, lol.
Hope you like it. Enjoy!

My first colourQ challenge of 2012

I looove when I can use discontinued Stampin' UP! cardstock, DSP, or any other retired product. I love colors, especially cardstock and DSP, and more than once I buy them and then they are on the shelves for months, and by the time I could use it, or I remember I have them, they are already discontinued. So I buy another pack of papers, stamps which are in the current catalogs, and the circle starts again. This year, as soon as I purchase any current product, I will use it as much as I can, so that it won't go to the retired bin! Anyway, all this came up because Cameo Coral is a discontinued color, and that is one of the colors at colourQ this week!

I found my inspiration for this card in Cards magazine, which I love. I always get inspired by all the wonderful cards that a lot of talented people have created...there are so many possibilities to play around each time I look at a card in that magazine.
Have a great day!

Merry Christmas to you all!!

Almost the end of the year! I'd be making Christmas cards for the rest of the new year. This is my favorite time of the year and I don't want it to end!

I created this card, which was inspired by a card I saw on the Card Ideas magazine. This week I've received the doily die, which will be available in the new Occasions Mini Catalog on January 4, 2012, and I wanted to use it desperately, it's soooo beautiful!!

I have to thank all of you who have followed me throughout the year, and for all the comments you left on my blog which have been so encouraging for me to create more cards. I hope everybody has a wonderful holiday season and a super duper happy new year with lots of blessings for all of you and your families!

God bless you all now and always!!
