As I told you already, I am back from SU! convention and full of energy. I don't know if it happens to everyone but convention invigorates us and it is like we charge our batteries. I think that that's what it's all about, but I am ready to create! This week the OCC challenge is to use fabrics and/or circles and these colors:
I am going to tell you the truth, when I started creating my card I wanted to do something similar that I had seen at convention, but when I was almost done I saw that one of my design teammates had a very similar card. Because she had made it first, I had to respect that and I changed mine.
I started with a piece of natural muslin, covered with multi-medium matte gel medium, and put designer series paper with the newspaper print on top. I applied another coat of gel medium to get the paper well glued on the fabric. Once it was dry, I applied some white and light blue acrylic. I stamped the Medallion on top with Lucky Limeade ink and let it dry.
I added the decoration with Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade and Pretty in Pink cardstock. I stamped some images from the Circle Circus stamp set (W 115778, C 127784), and finally splattered some black paint with the spritzer tool (107066).
Make sure to check out the OCC blog to see what the design team has created to keep your juices flowing.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
Hello Lili
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the convention, wish we had such happenings here in NZ, but we cannot have it all can we?
Love your interpretation of this Challenge. Your text Bg with the Lime the faux stitching looks wonderful and is a great focus to bring you into the design of your card. The elements suit the card wonderfully.
Smiles:)
Sue
Welcome back from the convention!! I have never been to one myself, but knowing me like I do, I'm certain house cleaning and laundry would take a back seat to my new invigorated motivation!! LOL...wait a minute, now I'm REALLY wondering why I've never been to a convention!! :D
ReplyDeleteYour card is superb. It captures all the required colors and the bold center draws you right in, but I love how the ink splatters slowly move your eyes back out to the more 'mild' and cooler tones. A gorgeous card indeed. :)
Hugs,
Lisa xx
Hi Lili! I was really hoping to meet you in person at Convention to say hello and officially welcome you to OCC! Sorry I hven't stopped by to welcome you sooner. Love your card...heck, you know I love all of your projects. I especially like the waterspots and the "stitched" accents. Very pretty and a wonderful way to showcase the colors. Have a great day! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fabulous card, Lili. Love the gorgeous background paper and pretty layout. Your faux stitching is great!... :)
