I got inspired by the new products in our Holiday Catalog, which is available now (if you want to see it, you can click on the image in the left sidebar). So I used the new Stampin' UP! Early Espresso Core'dinations Card Stock (127848), the Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (127819), and the Stampin' Sanding System (129367) to create the background. It is so much fun to emboss the cardstock and then rub the sanding block all over the embossing. I love to create this kind of distressing, especially for a vintage card. Then I stamped the solid big flower from Stippled Blossoms (W 126745, C 126747) in Summer Starfruit ink (126991) and then the coordinating flower in Cajun Craze in (126965) on Very Vanilla cardstock. I did the same with the leaves using Lucky Limeade (126984) and Gumball Green (126861).
I am fascinated by the effect that Stippled Blossoms stamps give to your card, because you have to work with two colors, which give a sense of depth. For the edge on the left side in Cherry Cobbler, I used the new Finishing Touches Edgelits (127010). The sentiment is from Loving Thoughts (W 125843, C 125845).

ReplyDeleteUtterly gorgeous card - that sanded background is such a perfect accompaniment to the beautiful yellow rose image - and the pin with the seam binding ribbon looks amazing!
